Limited edition letterpress poetry broadsides available from Prairie Lights Books

"Pennsylvania Pastoral" by Philip Levine with artwork by Deborah Zisko.

A poetry broadside, 9.25 x 13.25 inches, letterpress printed and limited to 150 copies. Signed by both the author and artist. The poem is printed from Rialto type in black ink. The title appears in brown and there is an initial letter printed in gray. The artwork is printed in multiple colors and is based on an original water color by Zisko, a landscape painter who also works at Prairie Lights. Rives Heavyweight cream. Printed to mark the occasion of the author's reading in Iowa City during the "Examined Life" conference at the University of Iowa. The poem previously appeared in the January 2012 edition of The New Yorker. Empyrean Press, Iowa City, Iowa, 2012.

"Iowa City, Ealy April" was printed at Empyrean Press in honor of the opening ceremony of the Glenn Schaeffer Library and Archives at the the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop, October 20th, 2006. Two hundred-fifty copies were letterpress printed by Shari DeGraw, Dan Rosenberg, and Cole Swenson. The types are Jenson and Castellar, and the papers are Barham Gren, Rives BFK and UICB hemp. The artwork is printed in multiple colors and is based on the print, "Background Frequency" by Amze Emmons. The edition size is 170 copies (100 copies are for sale). Portrait format: 7.5 x 12 inches.
